Palin attacks media over 'very scary' reporting

Ms. Palin is NOT qualified to lead this nation in any way, shape or form. Completely inexperienced she tries to pass an air of a qualified professional politician boiling down to nothing more than an attempt at lying to people of what she is not. Associating herself with a pitbull clearly projects her image to the rest of the World as being another bush that would shoot first and ask later. The fact that she would put lipstick on the poor creature indicates that she would allienate even the pitbull. Her poor attempts at manipulating the press, what the press would report to the World, and then crying foul when the image does not get projected as she wanted is yet another indication of how she works. Instead of working on what her state requires, instead of an honest days work, she would rather count her successes with positive image exposure by the press. Truly a sad person not worthy of representing the people of Alaska and even less the pitbull.

Maybe her witch hunting friend can kill 2 birds with one stone by exorcising "That Guy" and "That One" at the same time!

 The main paragraph in the article was,   "Palin did her venting Monday with John Ziegler, a conservative radio talk show host turned filmmaker, who posted excerpts on line to promote the sale of a forthcoming DVD titled "Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected".  This is a money move to sale a DVD.  Was Palin paid for her comments?

  Anytime you read where something is for sale it is not news it is a promotion.  If this was a free documentary it may be news and worth reading but it is not.  This is simply people trying to make money off of a situation that we all saw first hand.  Was she treated fairly by the Media?  Depends on your point of view.  But her being a part of a sales promotion is simply that, sales.  You have to ask what was her payoff on this sales job interview?

   The Republicans had two choices after they lost in the last election so bad.They could have taken the high road and looked at their shortcomings and corrected them and by doing so attracted some of those voters who deserted them or they could do the blame game. Blame the media. We are right and only if the media had got our message out we would have won.

  This is a pipe dream. It is also full of lies. They lost because of what they said and did. People are tired of gutter politics where you do not come out and explain yourself but choose to smear your opponent. This is not going on with just Ms Palin who I am now feeling very sorry for because she seems to have swallowed that line.

      She forgot that there are still people who think Obama is a muslim. That he was not born in the US and many other smears perpetrated by the right. In fact the rumor about her child was started in of all place Alaska because it was a rumor up there before she was ever nominated. Personally it had no effect on me or anyone else who I have talked to. They (the GOP) kept it going by blogging it to death for the sympathy vote in their effort to make her look like Joan of Arc or some other high profile woman who has been wrong.

     This latest garbage put out about by some right wing blogger is just as bad as her campaign. No substance just hate filled rhetoric and sour grapes as she continues down the slippery slope of denial. Once again being used by the GOP to get attention. Thats why I feel sorry for her. If she is not intellegent enough to see she is being used over and over by diabolical politicians in her own party she may never wake up.

Caroline Kennedy has been scrutinized and her "you know" interview showed over and over.  What makes Sarah Palin think that she has gotten a free pass?  The only difference is, she's not whining about it.

If Sweet Sarah wanted to get into politics she should have studied some political science and psychology. He whining and phony fear is an indication of a really sick and manipulative person.

The only class she'd better be concerned with is the grace and humility she should have shown as a looser. I hadn't accessed Newsvine for a couple of months as it was becoming the same old, same old information from McCain/Palin supporters spewing sour grapes and refusing to move on. 

Here we are two months later and they're still screaming "you liberals" to anyone who didn't vote for McCain, and "why are you scared", and "it is good for Sarah".  Here's a newsflash.  Obama is our incoming President, like it or not.  And Sarah Palin, despite her push to be in the center of the spotlight, will eventually fade into obscurity in the political arena.  Most people know there are more important things to discuss with regard to the current state of the economy etc. than to worry about whether or not Sarah Palin thinks she was picked on.  Her persistence in getting her face in the media is not good for Sarah, it just makes her look like an egomaniac who is a sore loser.  She would gain more respect if she would have taken her licks and gone back home to focus on her current job, rather than calling People magazine and any other media source that will listen to her.  I personally could care less about what she does, I liken her to a pesky little fly that just won't go away.  There are more important things to talk about.

Also - Caroline Kennedy is not "running" for any election - she is being considered by a governor for appointment to a seat - just like in Illinois and Deleware - appointment - when and if she is running for election and you feel that "class" is an issue in her treatment - let us all know then - because until then - the media is just reporting her background - not her campaigning!

This is absolutely priceless!  She complains that the media was not fair to her, perpetuated lies, etc.  Well, DUH... what exactly did she think she did to Obama during the campaign every chance she got?  She spouted nothing but rhetoric at rallies.

The media is more sympathetic to Caroline Kennedy?  Maybe, I can go back and forth on this one.  The HUGE difference here is that Kennedy is not a loose cannon who digs herself a hole and then whines when someone pushes her into it.

I think Sarah Palin was treated wonderfully by the media, in general.

Hillary was pretty much crucified by MSNBC, particulary by Keith Olberman during 2008.

Bush has pretty much been crucified by many media outlets during the past few years.

The Clintons have been crucified by Rush Limbaugh for going on 20 years now.

In comparison, Palin got off easy.

Wanda Murline, spin it however you like but bottom line is that Palin, although a very nice person no doubt, is a marginal government administrator. Her educational background in sparse at best. Her interviews consistently demonstrated she had no idea what goes on in the world outside of Alaska. (she didn't even know what the Bush doctrine was, which is pretty fundamental I think). Her touted opposition to the "bridge to nowhere" was pretty much a lie, and she took the money anyway.

Obama's intelligence and educational background is demonstrably better that 99% of the population. His is a resume of achievement and leadership. He took the best shots from all comers, both democrat and republican (imagine Palin surviving 2 years of campaigning, she couldn't survive 2 months), His is a voice that is articulate and visionary, whether or not you agree with what he says. He doesn't wink at the cameras or say "you bethcha".

I hate to accuse someone of being stupid, but to compare Palin and Obama is stupid.

Thanks for your posting...I was wondering if you, or others, could cite the "Obama doctrine" or the "Kennedy doctrine"? Any references or citations would really be great here. I've done searches and don't find anything other than vagaries and references to Palin when the "Bush doctrine" is queried. Hmmm...could it be there is no such thing and that it's a vague/poor question? Bottom line...there is no "Bush doctrine". There are stances and policies over many different issues that get the label "doctrine", but to simply ask "What is THE Bush Doctrine" is an ignorant and poor question. Palin has answered this many times in exactly the same manner and many other commentators have made the same assertion.

If I may...it would be far simpler for posters to simply say "I hate Palin 'cause." then to use the silly reasons posted on this discussion. "She's inexperienced!" Wow...that's just plain DUMB when compared to dumBHO, Kennedy and the latest pinnacle of political experience Franken.

We still know very little about Barack's days in the Illinois senate and working for REzko in order to get property below market value, but we learned everything about the Wasilla City Council, and the fact that Palin wanted to relieve some state trooper of his duties. The guy was a complete jerk. He'd used a taser on his own kid. He had no business being a state trooper.

For those of you complaining about Caroline Kennedy...she has NOT been appointed to anything and it does not look like she is going to be. Palin  does love the lime light she got a taste of it and her ego just can't let go.....People either love her or don't but either way people listen  when she appears in the news because so many of us find her entertaining!  And who doesn't need a good laugh these days. 

She can play the blame game with the media the dems or whomever she chooses to at the time but in reality she is responsible for her on demise.  Do not even want to get into all the mistakes that she made as there are too many to name and we all know what they were.    However, if she was serious & had ambitions about coming onto the national political stage she certainly did not come prepared. In many peoples mind she was a "very scary" as well as a poor choice on the Republican ticket.  

Someone also needs to inform her that the damage has been done on her credibilty as a future national candidate. First impressions are always so important and she did not take the appearance of stepping onto that stage very seriously.  It was her own mouth,  demenaor and lack of knowledge that caused her problems.  If she thought she could get by with her looks and slamming Obama well guess it didn't work. Sooo there is just one more comment I would like to make and that is "Sarah you are not the center of everyone's universe".

And Obama isn't?  He has gone around for the last month spouting off about his stimulus package and the media has been wagging it's tail about it.  Then, you read today that CONGRESS (I capitalize it because it's all of congress, Dems and Reps), are laying into it, saying it's wrong, no good, won't work, doesn't address the needs of this particular group, etc. etc. etc. 

Sounds like Palin isn't the only inexperienced, naive fool to run for office!

The rich are "fixing" the problem for us middle class again.  That's wrong, they don't know what they're doing.  There have been voolumes written on these web-sites by middle-class Americans on how to solve the problems, but it never gets to the eyes and ears of those who can implement them.

I've written to my Congressman, and I got a reply to my e-mail faster than he could have opened it, thanking me for my feedback. I blasted him and his colleagues, and he thanked me. Sounds like he hears the heartbeat of his constituents!  I haven't heard a word from him since then. I'll write again, but it's like pissing into the wind, you just get it back in your face, only it's colder!

..err, did you read it (wikipedia)? There is no "Bush doctrine", it's a phrase. It's a silly question and a silly response. The question is a generalization without any specificity and is telling of couric's ability.

You who attack Palin delight many. You fear her, her values, her acceptance by so many. The cruelty used in going after her family, the blatant search for mud up in Alaska, the nasty, petty unfairness of what was written about the Palins is, if you claim any connection to Christianity, is sinful. At worst, she was then a hick politician that has a different view of life, but your real reason was to eliminate any logical comparisons between the candidates.

What's the difference between Palin and Caroline? Caroline is a Kennedy, a New Yorker, a surogate beltway insider, a friend of Newsweek, NYT, MSNBC et cetra. To many of us, these are negatives, reasons to oppose her. You all fear Palin, you continue to tear at her, but guess what? She's in it for the long haul. She's not going away. See you in four years.

Does anyone remember the show on PBS where they'd put a bunch of former and current politicians, Washington insiders, and media professionals in a room and some big shot professor from Harvard would run them through a hypothetical situation? Each of the Washington people would play a role from President to AG to Treasury Sec, on and on and on. And the press people would show exactly how they'd reveal the news to the public and what opportunities they'd give the Washington insiders to reveal more or suppress confidential things. Anyway, the hypothetical situation would be something serious and pertinent to the time. The most recent one I saw concerned a terrorist threat.

If anyone knows the name of that program, I'd love to hear it. But, back to the way it relates to Sarah Palin. For those of you who have watched this, could you imagine Sarah Palin sitting in one of those seats?

This Liberals vs. Conservative politics/media/beliefs are the only thing Palin has going for her.  As long as she can play the liberals-hate-me-card the conservatives will flock behind her to defend her.  The overall problem with that strategy is that you can estimate that 25% of this country is true liberals and 25% is true conservatives.  That leaves the 50% in the middle that tend to follow a little of both ideologies and they have recognized the the divisiveness of this kind of media ranting is hurting this country.  The best thing Palin can do now for the RNC is to back off and stop being a national public figure.  Many of us are tired of being divided by hate talk and prefer to hear ideas to move forward.

Hey Mom 804  I too am a mother therefore I do understand proctecting and defending your child absolutely!  Com'on that's our job but keep in mind this woman came out of nowhere we knew nothing about her when she came into the public eye wth noticable baggage when walking onto the stage and one of them being her pregnant 17 year old daughter. 

Now hey this can happen to anyone or anyone's child but this looked so bad (wrong message) and out of the normal for Americans to see this girl paraded across the stage most of us were left scratching our heads...... Keep in mind Palin is a grown woman who is in the public eye and has experience with the local media in Alaska already invovled with a scandal called Troopergate.  She was well aware at what they can and will do with a story.  She choose to take a risk and go for it anyway putting this poor girl in the public eye. Do you feel she had Bristol's best interest at heart or was she putting her own desires first? This girl is 17 more than likely embarressed to be in the situation that she was in don't you think? And more than likely did not want any attention drawn to her you could see that on her face.

Once again because Palin was an unknown and was not allowed to talk with reporters(we found out why later) or anyone in the public so spun the web of curosity & people  trying & needing to know who she is...... It would have been so much better for her if she came out from the get go and talk freely but as we found out she doesn't have the right stuff to be VP.  Actually it would have been better just to wait for another opportunity when her personal life was in better shape as well as educating herself on national and international politics.

First of all, Palin made some GAFFES during the campaign and they were reported. Overall, I would say that's not unfair.

HOWEVER, Joe Biden's many gaffes and Obama's lack of experience didn't get the same media attention Sarah Palin got DESPITE the fact that many things said should have gotten more attention. The media ran this election whether we like it or not. If you don't want to admit it, fine. But many people have said it and I will continue to say it. This election was the biggest con ever. It was ran by the media and if you didn't vote Obama, you were a racist or an ultra conservative with no education. If you want to sweep under the rug the obvious bias, then you really are in denial.

Palin got the attention she deserved for her gaffes. She also had ugly rumors spread about her family (low blow) which Biden and Obama did not. She also was the only one in the campaign who's mistakes were constantly in the public eye.

Based on what I have seen with Newsviners, they have a lasting bitterness towards her long after she lost. If you can't let it go and constantly have to harp on her despite her loss, do you have insecurities you need to address within YOURSELF? Of course you'll SAY you do not, but if I believed everything people said, I certainly wouldn't be a very successful person.

The media didn't win this election. I did. Along with 69 million of my closest friends. Tens of thousands of volunteers and I worked several weekends and evenings to get this thing done. I will never accept your attempts to denigrate that effort.

Actually...  Part of the role of the vice president is laid out in Article One.  Specifically, Palin's favorite talking point about the role, that she'd be "in charge" of the Senate.

The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

It also outlines when the V.P. does NOT act as President of the Senate (such as when the President is on trial).

I've noticed a few people saying things like: "MSNBC got Obama elected", and "MSNBC, who control America's media" - to you of the right who seem to adjust actual facts to suit your ideology and prejudices: MSNBC is a cable outlet, like Fox. They have a very limited, niche audience, and the likelihood they'd affect a presidential election in any way is laughable.

The networks are different: much larger audiences - the interviews by Couric and Gibson wil have made a difference, because they were face to face interviews. But ask any politico, and you'll be told that political commenntators very rarely change anyones mind, as we generally gravitate to those commentators we agree with.

This carry on about MSNBC or any other media outlet affecting the vote, is nothing more than taking responsibility away from those that support an ideology based on prejudice, white American hegemony, and religion.

What a great observation. What happens, I think, is that once a seed like this is posted, a few people come in and dabble to see which way the post will go--conservative or liberal. Once a certain amount of very strong bloggers (obviously such as yourself) have gotten a high amount of votes and deemed it either way, then most of the other side leaves, and only a few brave souls continue to try to argue to the contrary.

Sometimes if the seed goes on as long as it has, like this one, the other side may take back over at the end, and your comment may suddenly be a threat, so it becomes collapsed.

The moral of the story here is that people will collapse comments if it doesn't agree with them, and they will vote comments they agree with even if they aren't necessarily the best argument (not that yours was). Welcome to Newsvine! =)

Well, I´m a woman and I dont like Palin because I find her too dumb and revoltingly ambitious to represent women. She doesnt even have the minimum credentials to converse on economics, environmental, and foreign affairs despite having studied Journalism and political science (what did she learn ?!).  I cringe each time she appeared in international news during the campaign.

You can say what you want about experience, but Sarah Palin became governor of a state by beating a Republican incumbant on her own.  Conversely, it appears the only job Barak Obama could get on his own without Tony Rezko's help, was as a community organizer for a black neighborhood.  With regard to naivete, if Barak Obama isn't naive, then he is the biggest liar to come out of the Democratic Party since it was formed.  Not only has he promised to change political fundamentals, but reinvent education, provide everyone equal and affordable health care, fix the economy, the infrastructure, the auto industry, the manufacturing sector, trade agreements, the balance of trade, enhance our world leadership position, balance the budget, and provide a chicken in every pot, but create 3 million jobs in the process.  Did I miss anything? We'll see if he does any of those things.  But, let's face it, the only thing any of you care about is what's in it for you.  In short, you feel you need government to fix your lives.  All of you really need to get out more and experience a touch of reality as does our new commander in chief.  Maybe both he and you will understand your own and governments limitations without constantly pointing to someone else's.

The media is harsh, run for political office and all of your skeletons come out of the closet, invented or real.  But the media does pick and choose which ones to elaborate on and which ones to ignore.  And the media wanted Obama as president, hands down.  Not just a democrat, because they were pretty rough with Hilary, but they wanted Obama.  And we have him.  I didn't vote for him, but I am willing to wait and see how he proves himself.  Hopefully he will have some good strategies and ideas and turn things around.  But can he accomplish it in four years?  Not likely.  And when things don't immediately change, the media will change thier tune.

Sarah Palin represents many of the attributes that have caused the social divide in this country and the polarization of politics. There is a distinct difference between being a populist and an anti-intellectual. While representing herself as the former she is a glaring example of the latter. She obviously places little to no emphasis in her personal life on education. Despite a financial position most would find enviable her children and son in law have not pursued any educational opportunity she often speaks of her family but never mentions any goals or sucess other than phsical contests. She was the least well educated candidate from any party in over a century exclusive of Harry Truman who lost an appointment to West Point due to poor eyesight and his family was in a poor financial position which precluded going on to college, it was not class bias or anti- intellectualism which stopped him just lack of money. Sarah Palin college credits were essentially 4 yrs of various community college and eighteen months at a school with the ability to present a BA. None of her schools had entrance standards all with open admissions, this does not make her a bad person but it probably does reflect on both her intellectual capacity and what premium she places on education. The interview questions she could not or would not answer should have been second nature. The questioning she most objected to were follow ups to statements she had made. She is the one who brought up McCains being an advocate throughout his career for regulation and could not name one instance. When asked a general question on foreign policy experience she is the one who brought up proximitey to Russia and when asked a general question on the role of the Supreme Court she is the one who cited problems with judicial activism and when asked what decisions bothered her she could not name one. She failed in a way that was an embarrasment to herself and out nation that she could even be considered as a steward of the Constitution it was patently obvious that she had never read it. She had no idea what the duties , responsibilities and parameters of the Vice Presidency were and to blame her deficiencies on others is immature at best. Being average as a reason to elect someone is stupid we are asking these men and women to succeed in solving gordian difficulties affecting the entire world being common which was her only marketable asset does not fill the bill.

Same here, Meso, which is why I tend to do the research on their points.  I figure sharing will save someone else the digging, if they're rushed, or at least give them a place to start if they're so inclined.  Undocumented "facts," I find, are often not much more than internet "urban legends," regurgitated party line comments, our outright exaggerations.

    Conservatives need to make it known just what conservative means anymore. It certainly does not mean smaller government and balanced budgets just to name a couple of things. I spoke to a family member who is way up in the food chain of a major network that feeds most of the news outlets that Conservatives bemoan. I asked her if there was Liberal bias so to speak or conservative bias. She told me there is neither. They try to walk the straight and narrow and balance the news as best they can because both conservative and liberals are their customers. They report the news as they see it.Of course Conservatives who are used to Fox news are frightened at the truth when they wander away from their little world at Fox but I guess that is natural.

Both Obama and Palin have very little experience to run this country yet we had to choose between to evils.  With 300 million Americans couldn't we have found better candidates then the ones both parties supported?  The media coverage of the candidates was pathetic.  They did not press the candidates for details of their respective plans nor did they challenge them on their responses but merely tried to "interpet" what they thought the candidates meant.  If the candidate is not clear when asked a question then the media should ask them the question again.  The candidates are green.  They may have lofty ideals but they have not been tested.

For example, Obama stated that his stimulus package will create 2.5 million jobs.  Humm, not based on the current plan being tossed around.  Obama said that his stimulus plan must be passed now our the country will not recover quickly.  Ummm, the fed has already pumped billions into the market and credit remains tight.  Another, Trillion dollars will not pull the economy out of recession by the third quarter of 2009 as some of his economic advisors have postulated.  Look at the money supply.  Despite the feds actions and the new proposed stimulus package which the market has already assumed in its pricing, credit remains constricted.  This is a global crisis not an American crisis anymore.  It will take a concerted effort by the G7 to turn things around.  Deflation, not inflation is the watch word of the day yet he preaches that his stimulus plan is the panecea for our economic ills.  It is not.  A stimulus plan is needed but we should not fall into the trap of believing it is the cure and neither shouild Obama.  Obama will be sworn in shortly as our President and I wish him all the best.

While most women are going through menopause not all, but it is still possible for a woman to get pregnant, however the older a woman gets the more likely that the baby will have defects and the more complications she can have during her pregnancy.

Some of you here claim, in your own writings, to be the keepers of all things Christian and good.  You stand on these strong, yet undefined, values of your belief and tell us why Palin has been maligned by the recent events in our country.  You tell us, no lecture us, no spew hatred all over us, in your so called defense of Gov. Palin.

On the one hand you tell us what a remarkable woman she is, and why we are terrible people for doubting her, while with the other, spew demented hatred on somebody like Rachael Maddow.  What has she ever done to you, to warrant such hatred and sophomoric demonizing?  There is nothing civil, or Christian, in your slurs.  In short, you and your inept party are unfit to lead anything, when such hatred and unchristian outlook is central to your plank.

I was commenting on the fact that she is not the only woman to give birth to special needs child instead of aborting it.  She is not special in that respect as she and so many people seem to think.
